English Cinema Haydn, also called the Haydnkino, is on Mariahilfer Straße in Vienna, in the pedestrian zone next to U3 Neubaugasse. The cinema says the building was built as a theatre in 1914 and has housed the cinema since 1917, and describes itself as family-run. Alongside current releases, its programme takes in arthouse films, live broadcasts of theatre and opera from London, classic film nights and sing-along screenings. Our listings here are for its English-audio screenings.
Arrive by U3 to Neubaugasse, using the Neubaugasse or Stiftgasse exit, or by bus 13A or 14A. There are four rooms: Saal A with 325 seats, Saal B with 137, Saal C with 77 and Saal D with 110. Access depends on the room. A stair lift reaches Saal A and Saal D, where the wheelchair spaces are at the back; from those spaces there is no step-free route to the toilets. Saal B and Saal C are not wheelchair accessible. Wheelchair spaces must be reserved by phone in advance, and the step-free entrance is at Barnabitengasse 11, beside the church. The cinema's About page has the full arrival and access details.
